One of the most interesting, yet at times troubled, streets in Vancouver has been under extensive construction for the RAV line that will connect the Vancouver International Airport with Richmond and Vancouver, all the way to the downtown core.
The details of an $11M renovation to be completed in time for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games has just been unveiled. The makeover will include festival spaces, potential use for video presentations on the giant white wall of the Sears department store, and vertical lighting. The sidewalks will also be widened to increase safety and pedestrian flow.
Granville Street is home to many of the city's more edgy brands and includes homes for some of it's most iconic including John Fluevogs. Other notable tenants include The Sony Store, Winners, Future Shop, Cafe Crepe, and many of the city's clubs and bars.
